Driving Theory Test UK

Can you Take Driving Lessons While Pregnant

Those who have gone through the rigors of the UK Driving Test will be familiar with how long and drawn out it can be. Even if you book your slots well in advance, there is a fair chance that either the theory or the practical or maybe both tests will get delayed. In any case, there is quite a drawn-out period during which driving lessons can be taken. Taking driving lessons under normal circumstances can be quite harrowing.

But what if a pregnant lady needs to take driving lessons?  The equation becomes more complex in this scenario and more importantly, the question is, “Can you take driving lessons while pregnant?” and the answer is yes, you can. However, it would be advisable to take a few precautions during driving lessons. Here are a few of the precautionary measures you should take:

The first and foremost thing here is that you need to be in good health. In the absence of complications, then on the advice of your doctor, you can go ahead with your driving lessons.

Inform the driving instructor about your condition so that routes can be planned on good roads with fewer chances of jerky starting and stopping.

Avoid lessons in the morning hours, if you experience morning sickness.

It is compulsory to wear a seat belt even if you are pregnant. Just make sure to put the waist part of the seat belt below the bump to avoid feeling uncomfortable.

You can continue with your driving lessons almost for the full term of your pregnancy, providing that you feel comfortable doing it.

Do consult your doctor before proceeding with driving lessons while pregnant.
