Important steps in the hazard perception test exam process

If you are 17 years and wish to have drivers license, then it is important to pass the theory test before applying for practical driving test. Hazard perception forms the second part of the theory test and has the great significance in the process of attaining driver’s license. The candidates can achieve higher score easily if they understand clearly the hazard perception test exam process and know how to identify the developing hazard.

Process of Hazard perception test:

The test is basically a computer based one where 14 hazard clips of one minute each are shown on the screen out of which the candidates are required to identify 15 real hazards at least one in each clip. The hazard perception test exam process starts with a short video tutorial that will explain how the test procedure works and what the candidates are required to do.

The Hazard perception clip starts with a freeze frame at the beginning before playing the video sequence and a count down from 10 will begin counting. At the end of the countdown the clip starts playing and the candidates have to click the mouse button each time they see a developing hazard. Even though each clip contains more than one potential hazard only one materializes into a real danger that causes the driver to change speed, position or direction.

In the hazard perception test exam process applicants are required to click in the scoring window as soon as they detect the developing hazard to obtain the maximum score. Clicking the mouse button continuously without any aim creates a message at the end of the video saying that they have scored zero marks for that particular clip.
