What are all the Requirements for the UK Driving Test?

 

To be able to drive a car in the UK it is required that a person should pass the UK Driving Test which is carried out by the Driving Standards Agency of UK (DSA), a governmental agency which formulates all the standards for driving a vehicle in the UK. So according to the DSA, certain requirements should be met in order to qualify for and pass the UK driving test.

Requirements for the UK Driving Test

New Rules: Some new rules and requirements are likely to be put into force with effect from 19 January 2013. So make sure that you refer to the amended rules if you need information on or after that date.

Provisional Driving Licence: A candidate should be in possession of a UK Provisional Driving Licence in order to appear for the UK Driving Licence Test.

Age Requirements: The minimum age for getting a driving licence in the UK is 17 years of age but the minimum age for driving a moped is 16.

Eyesight Requirements: If there is any impairment of vision such as deterioration of eyesight or colorblindness this should be declared to the driving instructor and it should be mentioned in the application form. It is required that a driver should be able to read a number plate 65 feet away.

Physical fitness: If any medical condition exists that may impair a driver from driving safely and may last for over 3 months, this information should be conveyed at the time of taking the driving test.
